The other means of transportation on Brijuni is surely the electric car. Its original purpose of making it easier for golf players to get around slowly changed, so the electric car has become a means of transportation for guests in the distant luxury villas, for VIP guests on island tours or simply for those who want to save their energy while looking for the perfect secluded beach on the island.

Bicycles

The best way to experience the enchanting beauty of Brijuni National Park is in morning and evening walks. But, if you want to intensify your activities then we suggest bike riding. No wonder that the 300 bikes at disposal sometimes are not enough in high season. Bike riding along the 24 km of asphalt trails is a wonderful experience. But, for adventure lovers, in search of extreme sports, real challenge awaits them – from unpaved trails to extreme downhill runs. There’s also a possibility of organizing special programs for them in cooperation with specialized agencies.

GOLF COURSE INTRODUCTION:

In your golf career, have you ever played golf in the company of deer, mouflon, rabbits and peacocks? If you are looking for a completely new experience for playing golf, then the Brijuni golf course should definitely be your next destination. On Brijuni golf is played on a unique golf course dating from 1922, which then acquired the flattering title of one of the largest and naturally most beautiful golf courses of that time. But, what most attracts golfers to Brijuni is the unique setting and atmosphere of this golf course. On the reconstructed 18 holes of the onetime largest golf course in Europe, you can still experience the enchantment of playing amid untouched nature. This rightfully dubbed environmental friendly golf course is truly impressive. The golf course is maintained without any machinery, no pesticides are used, it is not even watered so that greenery of the golf course depends on weather conditions.

Golf course details

In the tranquility of the southeastern part of the island there are 18 green hole numbers (PAR 71, SSS 71) length 5,486 meters (ladies lenggolfth – 4.977 meters). The course is not too demanding, so that it is available to all sorts of players (recreational players and the golf champions). Fairways are large so there can be different game errors. There are different hazards such as bunkers, woods and single trees, bushes and also water hazard.

Renting the equipment

You can rent the complete golf equipment and get all the information in the Golf House. Golf club (right, left and for ladies) golf bag, golf trolley and golf balls for exercises are also available. You can buy all the necessary golf equipment in our Proshop. The most important thing when you get to our golf course is to forget your HDCP and the result you are aiming to. Just relax and enjoy in the unique lay out that attracted the European aristocracy even 80 years ago.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:Professionally guided sightseeing tour of the most important archeological sites of the Brijuni introducing the visitors to the rich past of the islands through various cultural and historical periods, from prehistory, through antiquity, Late Antiquity and Byzantine period to the Venetian era.The tour includes a visit to the most layered and the longest inhabited Brijuni site, the Byzantine castrum, and the nearby St. Mary’s Basilica, the oldest Christian building on the island, continuing with a hill-fort from the Bronze Age and a sumptuous Roman residential villa from the 1st century in Verige Bay. The tour ends with a visit to the church of St. Germain from the 15th century which houses a part of the original mosaic from the Roman villa in Verige Bay.DURATION: 4 hours including a 30-minute break.

A tourist train ride to the Byzantine castrum and St. Mary’s Basilica. After sightseeing, the train continues the ride towards the hill-fort. Sightseeing continues as a walking tour. A visit to the hill-fort and the Roman villa in Verige Bay and return to the centre. After the break, the final visit to the little church of St. Germain.NOTE:Archeological tour requires that visitors wear solid and sturdy footwear, adequate head protection from the sun and that they carry sufficient liquid.Good physical fitness desirable.

St. Jerolim

The sightseeing program for the island of St. Jerolim consists of the possibility to accept individual and group visits with all-day stay and sunbathing. The shallow-draft vessels are allowed to anchor and sail between the islands paying the fee. The private and public vessels that transport the visitors on the island of St. Jerolim are allowed to anchor without previous announcement paying the fee directly on the island to the authorized person from the Public Institution.

Kozada (Kotež)

The sightseeing tour for the visitors includes the all – day stay and sunbathing. The shallow-draft vessels are allowed to anchor on the island without previous announcement and no fee is paid.
